Psychologist

Location: South West Sydney (NSW)

About the Role: MMT Recruitment is working in collaboration with our client, a well-established not-for-profit disability service provider in South West Sydney, to find an experienced Psychologist. In this role, you'll provide psychological and behaviour support services to school-aged children, young people and adults with disabilities, their families and carers. Working within a person-centred approach, you'll conduct assessments, develop intervention programs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions under the NDIS framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of people with disabilities presenting with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Conduct psychometric and psychological assessments to determine functioning levels, strengths and areas of need
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review individualised intervention programs aligned with NDIS goals
  • Provide behaviour support services in line with best practice guidelines and the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Framework
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including support coordinators, disability support workers and families
  • Contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of allied health service operations

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recognised Degree in Psychology with full or Provisional registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities with complex needs, including dual diagnosis
  • Experience with specialised and complex intervention strategies
  • Proven experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with other services
  • Current understanding of issues, trends and approaches in disability service provision
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Strong conceptual, problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to interpret clinical data
