As Nurah continues to grow, we are excited to recruit a Psychologist to join our growing psychology services. This is an opportunity for an experienced psychologist to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred psychological services while supporting participants with a range of needs, including complex and multiple support needs.
You will have the opportunity to work autonomously, manage a varied caseload and collaborate with participants, families, carers, allied health professionals and broader support networks to achieve meaningful outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to our Psychologist Clinical Lead, you will provide psychological assessment, intervention and therapeutic support to participants, helping them improve their mental health, emotional wellbeing, functional capacity and quality of life.
You will work with a high degree of professional autonomy, applying sound clinical judgement across assessment, intervention planning, therapeutic support and capacity-building approaches.
The role will involve working with participants with varying levels of complexity, including complex and high-risk presentations, while collaborating closely with families, carers, Behaviour Support Practitioners, allied health professionals and external providers.
You will also contribute to clinical quality, compliance and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of ethical and person-centred practice.
Key responsibilities include:
·Deliver psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to participants and clients with varying levels of complexity.
·Conduct psychological assessments to inform intervention planning and recommendations.
·Develop, implement and review evidence-based, goal-directed intervention plans aligned with participant needs.
·Support participants to build emotional regulation, coping strategies and functional capacity.
·Manage complex and high-risk psychological presentations, identifying and appropriately escalating mental health risks and safeguarding concerns.
·Work collaboratively with families, carers, allied health professionals, Behaviour Support Practitioners and external providers.
·Maintain accurate, timely and compliant clinical documentation, reports and case notes.
·Work within the requirements of the NDIS, relevant professional standards and Psychology Board of Australia requirements.
·Participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice and professional development.
·Provide informal guidance, consultation and support to less experienced staff where required.
·Build strong professional relationships with participants, families, carers and support networks.
·Collaborate across disability, mental health, health, education and community systems to support positive outcomes.
·Advocate appropriately for participant wellbeing and sustainable outcomes.
Skills and Experience
To be successful, you’ll bring:
·General registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
·Tertiary qualification in Psychology.
·Experience delivering psychological assessment and interventions within disability, mental health or community settings.
·Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health or psychosocial needs.
·Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
·Knowledge of risk assessment, safeguarding and incident response.
·Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
·Strong communication and therapeutic engagement skills.
·Strong analytical thinking, assessment and formulation skills.
·The ability to manage complex presentations and competing priorities.
·A strong commitment to ethical, person-centred and strengths-based practice.
·High standards of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
·Cultural awareness and a commitment to inclusive practice.
Highly regarded:
·Experience within NDIS or private practice.
