Job Description

About us

Spectrum.Life is a whole-of-health digital partner that guides organisations and their people to thrive, delivering clinically backed digital health, mental health and wellbeing solutions.

Our HealthTech delivers digital transformation for Insurers, Educators and Employers through Co-creation or seamlessly integrated out-of-the-box solutions, that decrease digital fragmentation and engage, empower, and transform their people’s lives.

Established in 2018 by Stuart McGoldrick and Stephen Costello, Spectrum.Life provides services internationally to over 7.2m insurance members, 3,000 corporate clients, 60 universities and 650,000 university students. Spectrum.Life currently employs over 450 people.

Our vision is to change and save as many lives as possible.

Role Brief

Some of the most valuable work in health isn't therapy. It's the handful of well-designed hours that help someone living with a chronic illness or a mental health condition get back to the life they want, and the clinical judgement to recognise when they need something more.

Our ANZ Connected Care Programs deliver insurer-funded mental health and chronic disease support to people right across Australia. We're growing, and we're bringing health coaching in house.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured, time-limited health coaching by video and telephone across our mental health and chronic disease programs
  • Complete baseline and completion clinical assessments, screen for risk, and escalate confidently when a participant needs more
  • Work with people managing depression, anxiety, cardiac and metabolic conditions, persistent pain, and the psychological weight of long-term illness
  • Write end-of-program reports for referrers and treating teams that are clear and useful
  • Contribute to a genuine multidisciplinary team and to how these programs are designed as they scale

Requirements

  • You hold general registration as a psychologist with AHPRA, with a Master's or Doctorate in clinical, counselling or health psychology
  • You have at least five years post-full-registration clinical experience, including coaching
  • You have genuinely practised health coaching under a recognised coaching model — not therapy with a coaching label
  • You understand how physical illness and mental health shape each other
  • You're excellent remotely, organised on paper, and generous in a team
  • You are living in Australia with the right to work here

Desirable

  • An ICF credential or equivalent coaching psychology qualification
  • Experience supporting people whose physical health concerns affect their wellbeing, including chronic disease
  • Five or more years in psycho-oncology, which opens up work in our Cancer Support stream

What are the benefits of working at SPECTRUM.LIFE?

  • A strong multidisciplinary model. You’ll work alongside an experienced team of nurses, dietitians and exercise physiologists with a wide range of skills and areas of practice
  • Regular MDT meetings, case reviews and internal peer supervision — resourced inside your paid hours, not on top of them
  • Fully remote, anywhere in Australia, with flexibility to schedule your hours between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
  • Admin support, so your time goes to participants
  • A digital health and AI-enabled business, with technology built to make good clinical work easier
  • Technology equipment provided and role-specific professional indemnity coverage
  • 24/7 EAP and a full suite of health and wellbeing supports
  • Real influence over how these programs develop
