About us

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

Brief Intervention Team (BIT)

The Brief Intervention Team (BIT) is a multidisciplinary team that endeavours to provide time limited episodes of care for consumers experiencing both low and high prevalence mental health disorders. BIT will support consumers and their families around clearly identified goals, through a combination of evidence based multidisciplinary interventions, care coordination, referral to primary care services, shared care with primary/private health services and engagement with lived experience members of staff. BIT will also collaboratively work with consumers and key stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition back to longer term supports.

What you’ll be doing

Provide a full range of clinical psychology services to clients of BIT including formal psychological assessment & individual, family and group therapy.

Provide evidence based, brief psychological treatment, usually between 6-12 sessions.

Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of treatment/recovery plans for clients.

About you

  • AHPRA registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
  • Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009
  • Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience working as a registered clinical psychologist
  • Australian working rights
  • Current Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
