Problem Behaviour Program – Psychologist Grade 2
• Full Time Role | Classification: P2 $94,478.80 - $106,906.80 + Super + benefits

Position Objective:
To provide clinical psychological expertise to the Problem Behaviour Program (PBP) and undertake assessments and treatment of clients in the PBP as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Provision of assessments and treatments may be delivered at Forensicare offices; however, the role may also include pre-release, in-reach services to clients serving custodial sentences within the Victorian prison system, and clients subject to post-sentence supervision accommodated in secure settings. The psychologist will provide consultancy and advice to other agencies and key stakeholders and may be involved in research and scholarly writing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialist psychological, psychometric and risk assessments and reports where required, including reports for the Courts and other agencies.
• Provide a range of advice on psychological services including secondary consultations regarding the management and treatment of complex client issues to other clinicians and to professionals supporting and supervising these clients.
• Provide individual and/or group-based interventions as appropriate.
• Assess and deliver treatment interventions to clients in settings external to Forensicare, where required, including prison settings and secure residential settings.
• Contribute to client risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide discipline-specific contributions to clinical practice and to program development.
• Provide consultation on psychology related issues within the PBP and to external clinicians and agencies as appropriate.
Key Criteria:
• General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
• Master’s or Doctoral qualifications (Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuropsychology)
• Extensive knowledge of the current psychological approaches in working with mentally, and/or behaviourally disordered clients in the forensic mental health setting.
• Previous experience working in a mental health facility, correctional service, or a forensic mental health service.
• Expertise in clinical forensic psychology including forensic assessments (i.e., court ordered assessments, assessment of risk for violence) and intervention with offenders and/or forensic patients.
