This position provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services of a clinical nature through direct patient care and consultation to hospital and Huntsman Mental Health Institute patients.

HMHI day treatment programs provide 40 hours per week of clinical care to youth with mental health issues. Teenscope South provides services for adolescents (12-18). We work on a multi-disciplinary team with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, education specialists, music and recreation therapists, and psychiatric technicians.
The role of the psychologist in day treatment is to function as the primary therapist in creating and implementing treatment plans to build skills for young people and return them to the ability to function in daily life within 4-6 weeks. Therapists in day treatment run groups, conduct individual therapy, facilitate family therapy, and help shape milieu inventions. They are the primary contact for families during the adolescent’s admission to the program and facilitate coordination of the team’s plan for intervention. Psychologists also provide testing services for youth as requested and as caseload allows.
Ideal candidates have strong clinical skills, have worked with adolescents and their families and have experience on a multidisciplinary team. Experience working with substance use disorders and knowledge of DBT are preferred.
