Psychologist

JewishCare | Sydney NSW

Join a newly refurbished Jewish Care psychology clinic funded by PHN.

We are seeking 2 psychologists with a depth of experience in complex client presentations that may include addiction, trauma, family and domestic violence and risk management.

The positions will be for 2 days or 4 days a week - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

The established team is led by the Clinical Lead and unlike private practice, the organisation manages all running costs and offers clinical supervision.

We welcome applications from psychologists who run their own private practice who are seeking to contribute to the Jewish Care clinic.

The Psychologist provides trauma-informed clinical intervention for individuals impacted by the Bondi incident and other mental health challenges utilising a variety of trauma informed modalities.

About the Role

As a Psychologist, you will:

  • Have in-depth knowledge and experience in at least one of the areas of addiction, trauma, family and domestic violence and risk management
  • Develop individualised treatment plans aligned with best-practice models
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, DBT and other trauma-informed approaches
  • Provide short-to medium-term therapeutic interventions
  • Conduct risk and suicide/self-harm assessments
  • Develop safety plans and crisis support strategies
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with community stakeholders and referral services
  • Support clients experiencing trauma reactions, grief, distress, and disruption

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Strong clinical assessment, formulation and therapeutic skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed psychological support with adults
  • Experience working with individuals with complex psychosocial needs
  • Ability to provide compassionate, accessible clinical guidance
  • Understanding of community mental health systems and referral pathways
  • Strong communication and engagement skills

Mandatory Requirements

  • AHPRA registration as a Psychologist
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Check

Desirable

  • Understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture
