Under the general direction of the Office of the Military Administrative Services Officer IV, the Clinical Psychological Health Clinical Manager oversees and supervises a staff of licensed Psychological Health Therapists while also having a proportioned caseload of clients.
Responsibilities include clinical and administrative supervision of Psychological Health Therapist/manager staff, assistance with program development and implementation, attendance at meetings within and outside the agency, help managing day-to-day site functions, active collaboration with other community agencies, provide therapeutic services to clients, support and collaborate on interagency collaboration and projects and other duties as needed.
Must possess and maintain one of the following active state licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Preferred) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Two years of supervisory/management experience. Clinical experience in crisis assessment and intervention with multi-system families. Strong clinical skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards in the treatment of adults, children, and families, including those individuals affected by multiple issues (abuse, neglect, domestic violence, chemical dependency) and demonstrated ability and desire to help families from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Knowledge of Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5 -Text Revision; proficiency in diagnosing depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar, trauma including PTSD as well as Complex PTSD and knowledge of substance disorders include substance disorder assessments, diagnosis, treatment interventions. Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) preferred. Understands the necessity for use of Evidence Based Practice and application of standard modalities i.e. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused Therapy. With advanced training trauma interventions i.e. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Poly Vagal Theory or another advanced Trauma program training. Strong organizational skills and timely follow-up to manage complex tasks associated with the service members, commanders and senior staff. Effective communication and intervention skills (written and oral). Proven ability to effectively and respectfully solve conflict. Proven ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural/multi-ethnic environment. Able to balance competing demands and maintain effective working relationships with staff, participants, interagency departments, collaborators, and community partners. Experience with process improvement, staff training, and responding to clients’ needs. Ability to take time to listen and understand the entire situation and constructively address issues. Ability to Identify and understand the broader context of a situation. Ability to foster an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
Program Supervision, Training, and Accountability. Provides individual and group supervision to clinicians to ensure quality therapeutic services and service hours requirements. Reviews caseload with supervisors in the effort to identify solutions to under or over case load expectations. Proactively evaluates individual and overall team performance on a regular and ongoing basis; uses collected data and information to make needed improvements, including adjustments as needed, to Therapists’ caseload and work assignments to maximize quality of care and staff productivity. Reviews electronic case records and documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of mental health services provided including application of proper techniques and appropriateness of therapeutic modalities. Provides on-going training to ensure quality clinical documentation. Effectively communicates program, administrative, and clinical expectations and policies/procedures to supervises; ensures compliance with state and federal mandates. Provides effective case consultations to increase quality of care. Supports staff development through an annual plan including staff training to ensure quality and effective therapeutic service delivery. Conducts annual performance reviews; proactively identify and develop plans for areas of improvement on an ongoing basis. Consults with Administrative Services Officer IV and human resources concerning employee and work problems. Provides input on mandatory and discretionary training courses in accordance with organizational requirements. Keeps abreast of best practices in provision of cultural competency for the diverse populations within the organization. Conducts comprehensive intakes/assessments to include a psychosocial diagnostic assessment addressing numerous life domains utilizing interviews, collateral contacts, available clinical records, observations, and verified screening tools that support best practices. Participates and provides input on service and program improvements during organization meetings. Provide psycho educational briefs and consultation to NVNG service members, command teams and senior leaders.
