Job Description

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated & experienced Psychiatric Outpatient MD to join our neurobehavioral psychiatry team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, & treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions in patients with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, & other neurodevelopmental disorders. The neurobehavioral psychiatry outpatient clinic is part of a continuum of care including specialized inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, & therapy services. The neurobehavioral outpatient team is supported with a dedicated nursing / MA team, behavioral health specialists, social work, & care management. Multidisciplinary clinics are also supported by neurology, genetics, speech therapy, & occupational therapy. As CCHMC continues to grow its regional, national, and international presence, clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside of the Burnet Campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations & assessments for new & returning outpatients.

  • Develop & implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management & psychotherapy as appropriate.

  • Provide crisis intervention & stabilization for acute psychiatric conditions presenting in the outpatient setting.

  • Maintain accurate & timely medical records in compliance with hospital & regulatory standards.

  • Engage in continuous professional development & stay current with advancements in the field of psychiatry.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.

  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Ohio.

  • Experience in outpatient or neurobehavioral psychiatry preferred.

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
