Job Description

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nocturnist Psychiatrist to join our team. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and involves providing night coverage. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric consultation to the emergency departments at both the Base and Liberty locations, addressing mental health crises in collaboration with the Psychiatric Intake Response Center staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric consultation to emergency departments for patients experiencing mental health crises.
  • Conduct admission and discharge reviews, and manage admission orders.
  • Handle all Priority Link Calls during the shift.
  • Conduct Inpatient Night Talks at 8:45 PM on weekdays.
  • Issue restraint/seclusion orders for the residential program.
  • Serve as the backup attending for the on-call fellow.
  • As CCHMC continues to grow its regional, national, and international presence, clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside of the Burnet Campus.

Schedule:

  • 7 days on, 14 days off schedule.
  • On-site coverage from 6 PM to 6 AM, with pager coverage from 6 AM to 8 AM.*
  • No PTO included.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Ohio.
  • Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
