What will you do?

The Psychiatric/DD Nurse (RN) position is part of the Nursing team within the Division of Residential Resources. The Psychiatric/DD Nurse (RN) will work on-site with the Nursing Department at the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center in Toledo, OH. Some of the duties include:

  • Assess/evaluate nursing & medical needs of individuals living at the developmental center
  • Direct/implement nursing care plan
  • Observe, evaluate, & record patient behavior, condition & response to medication & treatments
  • Coordinate clinical & medical appointments
  • Provide professional nursing care
  • Assists in feeding and grooming individuals
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Monitor LPN medication administration, documentation, individual care, etc.
  • Serve on interdisciplinary treatment team

Qualifications

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code.

Supplemental Information

$34.96 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $36.65

Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Additional $3.50per hour for assigned 2nd and 3rd shift

Additional hourly recruitment supplement $5.24 per hour

Annual increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service

RNs can receive Cost of Living increases every July 1st per the current 1199 bargaining unit contract.

No additional materials will be accepted after the closing date; in addition, you must clearly demonstrate how you meet minimum qualifications.

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, "Background Investigations for Employment," outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.

The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use.

1st consideration will be given to current State of Ohio SEIU/District 1199 employees.

Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May require travel throughout the State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. Must be willing & able to secure a Driver License OR supply your own transportation.
