We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Nursing Supervisor/Psychiatric Nurse

The Nurse Supervisor is a licensed Bachelors-level nurse who provides direct client care and oversees assessment, medication management and health & mental health monitoring and promotion activities for homeless women, with a focus on women with unmet behavioral health needs.

Empower Residence is a 24/7 transitional housing program for women, operating under HRA/DSS guidelines. As an enhanced shelter, we support residents facing challenges such as mental health needs, substance use, unemployment, and poverty. Location: New York, NY 10023

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of NY, NPP: Nurse Practitioner required.
• A minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience is required.

Nursing Supervisor/Psychiatric Nurse Principal Responsibilities:
1. Conduct physical and mental health/risk assessments and diagnostics for shelter residents.
2. Oversee delivery of individual and group health and behavioral health promotion interventions.
3. Provide short-term psychiatric care including medication management.
4. Collaborate with the team to conduct the required assessments and prepare applications for permanent supportive housing.
5. Supervise LPNs conducting medication administration, health monitoring and health promotion activities.
6. Make referrals to and coordinate care with outside providers on medical, behavioral health and health home services.
7. Prescribe and renew medications for the caseload.
8. Participate in the Incident review Committee to provide guidance, evaluate trends and assist with appropriate programmatic response where needed.
