State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the master's level or doctoral level acceptable to the board to include clinical experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the master's level or doctoral level and certified as a nurse practitioner by the SC Board of Nursing or licensed in another state and eligible for licensure which must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Must have 3 years of active clinical practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Must have basic life support certification.
Correctional, community mental health center, or emergency psychiatric care experience is strongly preferred.
