St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dedicated Behavioral Health Emergency Department team, providing high-quality psychiatric services onsite in Lewiston, ME. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven environment while enjoying a balanced schedule and a strong, collaborative care team.

Position Highlights

  • 3-day workweek
  • Flexible 12-hour shifts
  • Serve as Admission Officer for inpatient psychiatric units
  • Collaborate closely with the on-call Psychiatrist and the Emergency Department Physician
  • Join an experienced, compassionate team within a designated Behavioral Health ED setting

Experience & Requirements

  • Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
  • Unrestricted license to practice as an APRN
  • PMHNP certification required
  • Unrestricted DEA
  • State Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Registration with the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)
  • Child-capable certification
  • Psychiatric direct patient care preferred
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other members of the Behavioral Health team
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing a variety of psychiatric conditions

What You’ll Do

As a PMHNP on the overnight Behavioral Health team, you will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and medication management as appropriate. You will work collaboratively with the care team to support safe, effective, and individualized treatment plans for patients receiving behavioral health services.

This role is particularly well suited for a PMHNP who enjoys the clinical variety of hospital-based behavioral health and appreciates the flexibility and efficiency of providing care through telepsychiatry.
