Starting Compensation:

71.16 - 85.39 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

San Jose: North San Jose Center (In-person Position)

Working Hours/Shift:

Part-Time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, AM Shift (9 AM - 6:30 PM)

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications)

Education:

  • Master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited university is required.
  • Must have completed an approved Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program with an Adult, Child, or Family focus.
  • Doctorate degree is preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience working with children (6+ years) and adults diagnosed with mental health conditions

Certification:

  • Current certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Current certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, preferred

Licensing:

  • Current DEA License for the furnishing of psychotropic medications
  • Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance and must maintain a driving record that meets the company driver's eligibility policy.

NOTE: This position requires driving from home to home, working with clients in the community, and transporting clients in personal vehicles.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

In collaboration with a designated physician the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing outpatient psychiatric care, including intakes, assessments, and furnishing and providing medication management, following established standards and practices. The PMHNP will review and analyze participant records to furnish and evaluate the usage of psychotropic and other drugs and the quality and appropriateness of the care of mental health participants.

Division/Program Overview:

  • The program sees adults (18+) and older adults.
  • It is a FULLY community-based program - all services happen at a person's home or community.
  • The clients have complex needs - medication, housing, vocational, independent living and mental health.
  • The intensity for services for each client is about 10 hours per month and once we are fully up and running, we'll have a census of about 50 adults.
