Primary purpose:
To develop, implement and audit Process Safety Management programs, policies and procedures for Tallgrass Energy pipeline operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Facilitate the process hazards assessment process and provide site lead support to hazard review investigation process for incidents.
Manage and facilitate the PSM process to include pipeline operations, E&C and corporate teams.
Assess Engineering and Construction projects by working closely with Operations and Project Managers to ensure effective communication and planning from conceptual design phase and throughout the project life; ensure compliance requirements are met.
Prepare site projects for internal and corporate Process Safety inspections.
Identify, assess and document risk reduction and control strategies for significant hazards and planning, organizing, facilitating lead assessment and control activities.
Train and mentor Operations, Engineering and Construction teams on new and/or modified procedures.
Conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors as needed.
Serve as an advisory member and Subject Matter Expert on safety related matters.
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Occupational Safety, Business or a related discipline.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, applying principles and practices of risk assessment, safety engineering and hazard management.
Previous experience in technical safety, systems safety and process safety tools/techniques.
Good working knowledge of OSHA PSM regulations.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Required to carry a cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $90,000-$135,000/yr
