Context & Environment

Are you passionate about PSC accounting, financial reporting and ensuring compliance within Malaysia’s upstream oil and gas industry? We are seeking a skilled PSC Accountant (fixed-term contract) to manage Production Sharing Contract (PSC) accounting and reporting, Joint Venture (JV) accounting and regulatory compliance while supporting accurate financial reporting and cost recovery processes.

Activities

Your Impact

As a key member of the Finance team, you will:

  • Prepare accurate and timely PSC accounting, reporting, and quarterly audited account submissions.
  • Ensure costs incurred and cost recoverable are properly recorded in accordance with PSC guidelines and PETRONAS Governance Standard.
  • Manage entitlement calculations, lifting allocations to support accurate production and revenue reporting.
  • Ensure consistency of PSC reporting with accounting books, budget and JV records
  • Ensure proper JV partners’ cost shareability per JOA, recording cash call and accurate over/under JV positions as per Joint Interest Billing.
  • Collaborate with JV partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries, support reporting requirements, and maintain PSC compliance.
  • Support internal/external audits including partner and regulatory audits by maintaining robust documentation and ensuring timely closure of audit requests.
  • Drive SAP process improvements, strengthen system controls, and support Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) enhancement initiatives, including UAT activities.

Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience (Degree), 5 years’ experience (Diploma) or 10 years’ experience (Professional Certificate) in the oil and gas industry.
  • Good knowledge of PSC accounting, upstream accounting.
  • Knowledge of inventory costing, production and revenue accounting, general accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP and strong understanding of financial systems and controls.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
