Job Description
Performs first-line of defense role of researching, developing, and implementing a coordinated approach to understanding risks and controls and ensures regulatory adherence for the Payment Services Department through performing control testing and monitoring processes. Conducts routine control and monitoring activities for department’s operating procedures to assess whether employees are following standard operating policies and regulatory guidelines. Performs review of current and newly implemented control processes. Provides detailed assessments outlying gaps/risks identified during monitoring, to include recommending proposed process redesigns to mitigate identified gaps and risks. Supports operational audit initiatives and collaborates with the leadership team and staff to compile all necessary documentation in preparing for internal / external audits. Responsible for developing, updating and maintaining reporting on key performance indicators for distribution to management team. Perform ad hoc reporting and data analysis based on the business needs and extract the proper data from relevant systems to communicate key business insights. Creates easy to understand visualizations to communicate information extracted from multiple data sources in support of Payment Services control and monitoring data strategy. Establishes, develops and maintains departmental policy and procedures documents including controls and monitoring. Creates documentation to support growth, ensuring that all processes are documented, and maintained as process improvements, system updates or upgrades occur. Conducts system specification reviews, testing and provide recommendation for approval to implement system configuration changes into the production system. Reviews procedure workflows as part of the workflow approval process. Support Robotic automation projects by identifying candidates, building requirements, tracking project activity, resolving problems, and publishing status reports through final implementation. Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum of five (5) years of member service, payment operations or comparable financial services industry experience. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, & Visio. Creating and executing test scripts to include documenting defects and communicating the details to the management team specific to operational efforts. In-depth knowledge from both a business and IT perspective within all payment processing systems. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Power BI visualization tools.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA regulations. Monarch experience and use of Fidelity applications. Knowledge of Payment Operations and federal regulations including but not limited to Remote Deposit Capture, Regulations E, Z, CC, J, AA, UCC article 4, and NACHA rules/regulations. Demonstrated experience with assessing effectiveness of controls and performing testing. Able to take initiative and make independent decisions in the best interest of the Credit Union. Basic knowledge of SQL Server to include data extraction, data uploads, and the building of basic queries. Extremely organized with strong time-management skills.
