Job Description

Job Location: Pawhuska - PAWHUSKA, OK 74056
Position Type: Full TimeThe PRT-ONCC Float PRSS staff member is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to residents of the treatment program while actively working with the community and clients to assist in the development of natural supports for individuals in recovery. The ideal candidate must be able to identify and work with the American Indian community at large, relating to their needs under our program activities, and incorporating traditional Osage values and culture into recovery projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 or more years of experience working in a substance abuse facility, domestic violence shelter, or behavioral health program
- 1 or more years of demonstrated recovery from a substance use disorder.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer literacy skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
General

Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred.
- Must be willing and able to obtain Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) credentials from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services within 90 days of hire.
- Must be CPR certified within the first 90 days.
- Must be HIPAA and Privacy Act trained within the first 30 days.
- Must be willing and able to share your personal story of recovery to assist clients and the community.
- Must have a caring attitude and an understanding of the problems associated with substance addiction and domestic violence.
- Must be able to deal with potentially hostile and/or uncooperative individuals, handle stress, and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Requires a high level of personal integrity, ethics, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a team player with strong diplomacy skills and conflict management abilities.
- Requires a moderate level of technical writing skills, good interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.
- Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality regarding residents and handle sensitive information.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.
