Job Description

Develops and maintains the BCN and Blue Cross Provider websites. This position is responsible for the analysis, design, testing and implementation of Web solutions and the exploration of new digital communication opportunities.

  • Develops and maintains provider-facing websites, including secure and nonsecure websites.
  • Designs Web solutions and performs analysis, design, testing and implementation.
  • Works with internal business stakeholders to define business requirements.
  • Develops and presents recommendations and creative communication alternatives to business stakeholders and management staff.
  • Responsible for implementation and all related details, ensuring quality goals are met.
  • Monitors, analyzes and delivers key performance indicators and Web usage reports of sites to drive the ongoing development and optimization of Web content and develop future strategy and works to increase traffic and time on sites and improve user satisfaction.
  • Participates in quality assurance testing, including formulating and carrying out test plans for automated tools and systems to improve and maintain quality standards.
  • Monitors competitive landscape to find best practices and strategies to provide new design recommendations.
  • Leads research activities or works with appropriate enterprise personnel to implement new technologies and provide ideas for technical or business improvements.
  • Administers content management systems and maintains website archives.
  • Maintains relationships with Blue Cross and BCN IT, Digital Experience and other business and technical leaders to enhance collaboration across the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Graphic Design, Web Design or related field preferred.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience in a design environment required.
  • Usability Certification preferred.
  • Experience in metrics, analytics, and data reporting preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem resolution, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, direct and positively influence the work of others.
  • Ability to publish content within an enterprise content management system.
  • Ability to create and optimize images for display on Web pages.
  • Ability to be a team player, establish and maintain good working relationships across the enterprise and exhibit flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment with continuous change.
  • Ability to develop websites that work across multiple browsers and platforms.
  • Knowledge of Acrobat Professional, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Captivate and Access software.
  • Knowledge of Blue Cross/BCN corporate design guidelines, policies and procedures and the health care industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Blues provider systems.
  • Knowledge of Web development tools (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and SharePoint), programming languages such as HTML, XML, CSS and related software tools.
  • Graphic design and layout (InDesign) skills.
  • Creative, self-starting, detail oriented, technically savvy with strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Working knowledge of user experience, usability best practice and usability testing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online marketing tactics, industry trends and user behavior including search, email and social networking platforms desired.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize activities as needed.
  • Strong understanding of digital content best practices.
  • Enjoys discovering creative solutions to user issues.
