Job Title: Prototype Technician - Midnight Shift
Assemble and/or teardown and test engineered systems such as engines, transmissions, driveline PTU and RDU, and other power generation and components. Working directly with and involving structural components and driveline systems in a test lab environment.
Responsibility
Assemble and/or teardown prototype engineered systems such as engines, PTU and RDU, transmissions.
Perform similar tasks on pilot pre-production, or production systems.
Analyze failed systems and make recommendations.
Perform general preventative maintenance and make repairs on departmental equipment.
Install and remove test set-ups within test cells.Monitor operation, provide feedback to management.
Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of daily timecard.
Follow work instructions, Job Travelers, and Work Requests
Be able to use precise measuring tools (micrometers, air gages, dial bore gages, dial indicators, calipers, etc.) and properly operate all equipment.
Provide basic tools and toolbox as required to complete tasks.

Academic/Educational Requirements
Minimum two years automotive and/or mechanical experience. Two-year college/technical/vocational school preferred. Automotive Test Lab experience preferred. Experience with servo-hydraulic actuators and driveline testing preferred.
Required Skills/Experience
Complete understanding of engines, transmissions, driveline components and systems.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and assembly equipment.
Understanding and practical application of operational shop math, Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively in front of the team or group of customers.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems for the engineered systems in 4.1.
