Coordinate complex prototype activities that enable better medical devices.
At Coloplast, we develop products and services that make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs. In this role, you help our development projects turn product concepts into prototypes: for design iterations, usability studies, clinical trials, and design verification.
You bring structure to technically complex work. You connect engineers, manufacturing specialists and project teams around one plan. Your job is to build the integrated overview, maintain appropriate traceability and make the complete prototype flow work across the relevant stages of product development
You coordinate prototype activities in complex development projects. That can mean multiple prototype variants, several manufacturing steps or sites, shifting levels of design maturity, demanding traceability requirements, or a wide stakeholder group.
This is an engineering-based coordination role: you will not be expected to manufacture the prototypes yourself or replace the technical specialists who define the prototype needs and requirements. The technical specialists remain responsible for defining their prototype needs, while the manufacturing teams remain responsible for production execution and manufacturing documentation. You bring these contributions together into one coherent and executable prototype plan. You build plans, spot dependencies and missing information, keep things visible, and push unresolved issues to a decision.
You'll join our Test Development Engineering team: Test Development Engineers and Prototype Engineering Specialists, supporting product-development projects across Coloplast.
In this role you’ll have a broad footprint across the whole organization. You'll work closely with Product Development Project Managers, Test Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Clinical and Usability colleagues, Quality Assurance, manufacturing sites, and external partners. You'll also work with the other Prototype Engineering Specialists to build consistent, practical ways of managing prototype activities across the team.
Your key responsibilities are:
Your engineering background lets you challenge weak assumptions, identify gaps, and bring in the right specialist at the right time. You need technical understanding to see how requirements, product variants, materials, manufacturing processes, documentation, and timelines affect each other.
Your real contribution is keeping the complexity manageable, so the team delivers.
We expect that you:
Experience in medical devices, life science, or another regulated environment is a plus. So is familiarity with prototype production, design verification, configuration management, quality systems, or coordination across multiple manufacturing sites.

We call this intimate healthcare.
Closeness to all customers makes this possible. We listen to better understand needs and respond by finding new ways to do things better together. We lead the way by bringing the best ideas first and fast to market in the form of medical devices and service solutions.
Deeply private and personal medical conditions are our focus. Our passion to make a real difference to people’s lives is what drives and unites us. Our culture supports high ambitions and releases the full potential of our own people to achieve them.
