- Electrical Work Instructions (WI) for harness & ECU installation
- CAD support (CATIA Electrical / 3D routing) for Virtual Build
- Prototype E&E Quality Planning & Validation
- Ensure robust electrical integration, first-time power-on success, and stable system functionality during prototype builds.
1. E&E Build Process & Quality Planning
- Develop BoP / AFD for E&E systems, including:
Harness routing sequence
ECU installation & configuration flow
Power-on / bring-up sequence
- Define:
Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) for electrical systems (connectivity, grounding, sealing, routing)
Inspection & electrical validation checkpoints
- Identify risks via DFMEA/PFMEA inputs (E&E scope)
2. Electrical Work Instructions (WI)
- Create detailed WI for technicians, covering:
Harness routing paths & clipping strategy
Connector mating / pin integrity
Grounding points & shielding requirements
ECU installation & flashing sequence
- Include:
Visual aids (routing layouts, connector views)
Torque / retention specs
Error-proofing (mis-plug prevention, labeling)
3. CAD & Virtual Build (E&E)
- Lead CATIA Electrical / 3D harness routing development
- Perform:
Routing feasibility (bend radius, clearance, clipping)
Interference checks with mechanical systems
Accessibility & serviceability validation
- Ensure CAD reflects:
Accurate harness lengths & branch definitions
Mounting points & protection features
- Support 2D harness drawings, schematics, and installation layouts
4. Prototype E&E Quality Engineering
- Define and execute E&E control plan, including:
Harness continuity checks
Power integrity & grounding validation
Network communication checks (CAN/LIN/Ethernet basics)
- Lead:
Power-on readiness checklist & first energization validation
Electrical defect tracking (open/short/misrouting/mis-pin)
- Drive:
Root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why)
Corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain structured issue tracking (JIRA) and defect logs
5. Prototype Build Execution (E&E)
- Act as E&E technical owner during build & bring-up phase
- Support:
Harness installation troubleshooting
ECU flashing, coding, and configuration alignment
Debugging electrical/system issues during integration
- Update CAD, WI, and BoP based on build feedback
6. Cross-functional Integration
- Coordinate with:
E&E Design, Vehicle Architecture, Integration, Software/Diagnostics
Mechanical teams (Body/Chassis/PT) for routing interfaces
- Ensure:
Electrical design â physical integration â functional validation
- Align with suppliers for harness and ECU readiness
