Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Protection Manager (southeast), the Protection Information Officer will be responsible for coordinating with IRC Protection Team Leader, Protection Officers (EPA), Protection Officer (CP), Protection Mobilizers, MEAL Officer, and other relevant stakeholders in areas of operation to disseminate regular up-to-date and accurate information on available services by sector and location, to targeted townships. The Protection Information Officer will design and deliver information sessions on a range of topics, including risky migration and trafficking, available services in the area, how to access them and eligibility criteria. S/he will ensure that information sessions meet the specific needs of various community groups through coordination with Protection Mobilizers, in coordination with the Protection Manager. The Protection Information Officer will design and deliver information dissemination materials in coordination with the Protection Manager, including leaflets, posters, and bulletin boards. The Protection Information Officer will also be responsible for maintaining information on available services and referral processes, and facilitate referrals through establishment and maintenance of referral pathways; direct communication with agencies that receive referrals; timely follow up of referral outcomes; and ensuring the referral outcome tracking database contains accurate, comprehensive and detailed information

Major Responsibilities:

• Conduct field visits 1-2 times per week to villages, information help desk and urban areas to meet with community members to deliver information on their rights and access to services in their areas.

• To manage the delivery of group information sessions (public speaking) and collect attendance records and evaluation forms.
• Design and implement RISE program and information campaigns, written and oral, with the support of the Protection Manager (Southeast) (including leaflets, posters, bulletin boards, radio broadcasts and others) according to needs outlined in monitoring data.
• Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area (coordinated by the Protection Team Leader, Protection Officers and Protection Mobilizers) and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services.
• Identify, establish and support referral mechanisms for services in areas of operation.
• Make referrals to relevant service providers including the UNHCR through standardized referral system and conduct regular follow-up with service providers on referred cases.
• Receive cases referred from other agencies. Provide feedback about actions taken to other agencies, when necessary and appropriate in light of confidentiality requirements.
• Keep an up-to-date referral tracking sheet including relevant profile info, follow up actions and updates provided by different stakeholders.
• Conduct advocacy to local service providers regarding protection concerns in coordination with Protection Mobilizers and as directed by the Protection Manager.
• Coordination with relevant partners for referrals and provision of technical support related to information management.
• Support the team to upload and entry date online (CommCare or Kobo)
• Document all referrals accurately and in a timely manner in the referral documentation system, including all relevant updates and case closure details; and,
• Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the supervisor.

Data management and reporting

• Manage, file and store data, ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided.
• Provide updates about work planning as requested.
• Support the implementation of M&E tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program.
• Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management and reporting requirements.

What should you have?

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Science, International Relations, Human Rights, Law, Community Health, Development, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

• At least two years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization.
• Good protection background and knowledge of local context.
• Experience in information management and data analysis.

Competencies:

• Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Good communication skills include the ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities.
• Good coordination and communication skills for networking with relevant service providers and partners.
• Experience in public speaking and presentation skills.
• Excellent English language and local language skills, oral and written.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office, Combo, and Comcare application usage, and experience in document design and layout.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; and,
• Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.

Language Skills

• Fluent in Myanmar and English, both oral and written.
• Fluent in local languages is an asset.
