Siemens Electrification and Automation is seeking an experienced professional in Automation for Power Systems, in the field of substation automation and protection relay engineering to join our growing team of Power Systems Engineers in Queretaro, Mexico. You will be working alongside a growing team of engineers to support projects and customers in the Queretaro Factory, as well as support on the design and configuration stages of US Based projects for automation and protection.

Role Description

  • Prepare documentation and programming settings to be implemented on the switchgear devices during a FAT or Internal Programming Request.
  • Coordinate with Test Field, and FAT manager, the readiness of the Switchgear in Testing Area, to implement Automation/Programming Activities.
  • Support to PA Engineers to perform Automation/Programming Activities and test on the switchgear during 1st and 2nd shift (Sometimes is also required to work in 3rd shift depending on the workload in factory).
  • Report processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas.
  • Prepare Test Set (Omicron, Doble, etc...) routines for various protection applications.
  • Perform the Protection & Automation Testing on the switchgear during 1st and 2nd shift (Sometimes is also required to work in 3rd shift depending on the workload in the Factory).

Minimum qualifications:

  • Electrical / Electronic / Electromechanical / Mechatronic / Automation Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of relevant electrical experience in power systems protection and automation engineering field.
  • Intermediate Knowledge in electrical schematic designs / interpretation for control and protection of Low, Medium and High Voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Automation and Protection products and their associated Engineering Software.
  • Factory testing experience in Electrical Protection and Automation and Control systems.
  • Intermediate both verbal and written English communication.
  • Availability to rotate Shifts (1st, 2nd as standard and 3rd shift when the workload in factory is high)
