DFG:
The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is the state agency responsible for conserving the state's natural resources. DFG exercises responsibility over the Commonwealth's marine and freshwater fisheries, wildlife, plants, and natural communities and provides outdoor recreation opportunities to the public. The Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) serves Massachusetts’ citizens by protecting, restoring, and enhancing fishery resources and their habitats while providing sustainable fisheries-related recreational and commercial opportunities.

Job Opening: The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) launched a PAM project in February 2025 consisting of 17 bottom-mounted archival stations, and two real-time stations. The project is primarily focused on using acoustic detections to better understand behavior and habitat use of North Atlantic right whales. The findings from this project are aimed at providing information to manage fisheries and vessel speed restrictions in local waters. DMF seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal Protected Species Acoustic Monitoring Technician to perform the following duties:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class D license or equivalent license from the state in which you reside.
