Propulsion Technician (Engine Final Assembly)

Location: Redondo Beach

Compensation: $35.00 - $50.00 / hour


As a Propulsion Technician (Engine Final Assembly) at Impulse Space, you will support the build and integration of flight-ready rocket engines. This role sits at the very end of the manufacturing process—where precision, discipline, and accountability matter most.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and integration of rocket engines and propulsion subsystems
  • Install critical components including valves, feedlines, injectors, sensors, and avionics interfaces
  • Execute precision torqueing, fastening, and sealing operations on flight hardware
  • Perform alignment, fit checks, and final configuration prior to test or shipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, propulsion, or precision mechanical assembly
  • Demonstrated experience working on complex, high-reliability systems (engines, fluid systems, pressure systems, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with torque tools and precision measurement equipment, cleanroom or controlled assembly environments

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience working on rocket engines or spacecraft propulsion systems
  • Experience supporting engine test operations
  • Experience working with cryogenic or high-pressure systems & hazardous operrations (fuels, gass or high energy systems)
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan
