In this role, Proposals Engineer is responsible for preparation of Techno commercial offers for the offsite built Modular Performance Systems, including integrated pump packages & plant rooms for HVAC and Fire Pump applications, and Plant optimisation solutions (control systems) as part of a multidisciplinary project team. The role involves developing detailed techno commercial offers with supporting value propositions, while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, project schedules, company standards, and quality requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Review customer requirements and prepare technical compliance

  • Study customer BOQ, Tender documents and understand the requirements
  • Ask for clarifications and relevant details for preparing the detailed value proposals
  • Arrange for meetings / discussions with customers and internal stake holders (sales, offering, Projects, Operations, Finance Etc) as required to get alignment on technical & commercial T&C as required.
  • Gather all inputs required for paring the detailed Armstrong Value proposal.

Propose suitable solutions – Techno commercial Offer

  • Develop accurate equipment selections, engineering calculations, cost estimates and commercial proposals.
  • Prepare and submit proposals and support documentation within agreed timelines.
  • Drive proposal quality, margin compliance, costing accuracy and adherence to company processes.
  • Own the proposal process from enquiry review through commercial submission and order handover.
  • Ensure proposals meet technical, commercial, quality and customer requirements.
  • Balance and prioritise multiple opportunities while maintaining accuracy and delivery timelines.
  • Support Sales in opportunity progression, customer meetings and technical/commercial discussions.
  • Identify project risks and demonstrate awareness of margin, cash flow, escalation and commercial risks.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, consultants, vendors and internal stakeholders

Project Handover for Execution

  • Consolidate all technical documentation, Commercial T&C, Special requirements, all communications etc
  • Prepare detailed costing along with all supporting quotes / cost data & Lead time from suppliers
  • Conduct Project handover meetings with relevant cross functional team members, including but not limited to – Sales, customer support, Projects, Finance, Engineering etc)
  • Clarify all details and handover project to Project Manager.

Cross Functional Coordination & Continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with operations and sourcing team on supplier development for project items – competitive supply base, both cost and lead time wise while meeting all quality needs.
  • Maintain accurate cost data base all project items
  • Upgrade knowledge on Armstrong product and implement them though value proposals
  • Support customer engagement, energy analysis etc
  • Maintain CRM, proposal records, costing tools and relevant KPI for reporting.
  • Maintain all documentation inline with company standards
  • Willingness to undertake national travel and infrequent international travel (approximately 10–25%).

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in application / proposal Engineering in the filed of HVAC, building services design, fluid management systems, or industrial project engineering or any SPM manufactures.
  • Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and project execution teams in an industrial or building services environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of handling projects of larger sizes in terms of technical compliances & commercial offers.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, Fire pumping systems, boiler/chiller plants, cooling towers, and related building services systems is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Cost estimation tools Excel based or automated.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, assemblies, fabrication documentation, and BOM management and ability to interpret customer specification and convert them into desirable solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Awareness of sustainability and energy-efficient engineering practices is desirable.

  • Team-oriented leadership skills with a proactive approach.
