Proposals Engineer (Graduate)

of the role:
The role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering career within a design office environment, working on technical solutions for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to design projects whilst building your professional knowledge and experience. The role will require strong technical skills and communication with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, suppliers and clients. In executing the role it is paramount that Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are respected and taken account of.
Duties of the Role include:
Assist in the development and preparation of technical design proposals for municipal, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage clients
Contribute to developing design solutions to technical problems under supervision including design and technical documentation
Exposure to diverse project types and client requirements
Support senior team members in managing project information and timely delivery
Support with client presentations and proposal pitches alongside senior engineers
Assist in checking work and learning from feedback provided by colleagues
Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary design environment with other design departments to ensure proposal alignment and quality
Undertake calculations using design software and by hand as required
Conduct research on treatment technologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Support contract and commercial discussions under guidance of senior team members
Engaging with our supply chain partners and sub-contract partners to ensure compliant solutions and competitive pricing
Support accurate and diligent execution of work within your department
Develop time management skills and meet defined timelines and budgetary constraints
Maintain effective, professional and appropriate communication
Apply problem solving and good engineering principles under guidance

Develop Technical Skills in Wastewater and water treatment design, process engineering, CAD/design software, and hydraulic modelling
Understand and ensure compliance with Clients Specifications, Health and Safety Requirements, Company Quality requirements, Company Policy, legislation, design standards and good engineering practice
Develop Commercial Skills with Project costing, contract management, and client relationship building
Develop Professional Skills with Technical writing, presentation delivery, and stakeholder communication
Develop Industry Knowledge: Water industry standards, regulatory compliance, and sector-specific requirements
Support and assist Managers and colleagues
Adhere to the Company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a supportive and respectful working environment
Undertake duties of a general nature as required by your manager
Required skills for this role:
NFQ Level 8 Honours Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Water Engineering)
Knowledge of or keen interest in the water and wastewater treatment industry
Highly organised and efficient
Strong problem solving skills
Numerate and highly computer literate
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and develop, with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with support
Competent user of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn relevant design software packages
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
