Why This Role Matters
The primary function of this role is to assist the Proposals Department with all organization tasks, proposal and presentation completion, department statistics and supply needs. The assistant role is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of the auction industry and business development process.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • General department administrative tasks as assigned by line manager

  • Support the proposal preparation process

  • Keep all data up to date in Christie's internal systems

  • Scan and download comparable images from Christie's systems for use in business-getting documents

  • Research and compile competitive data including both traditional research, using Christie's onsite libraries, as well as online research using auction databases and other internet sources

  • Assist Proposals Writers with writing case studies and market reports

  • Depending on experience level, project manage, assemble and organize written proposals, letters, and other business-getting tools.

  • Write and organize proposals/letters in allotted time.

  • Gather appropriate statistical information and illustrations of comparable property sold at Christie’s and in the overall market for proposals.

  • Interact with Specialists to incorporate feedback on own documents and for other team members.

  • Proofread documents for own projects as well as for other team members.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Proposals team on larger projects, either as a team leader or in an assisting role, depending on the project.

  • Undergraduate degree required

  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel are a plus

  • 1-2+ years of work experience

  • Strategic and commercially minded

  • Creative-minded

  • Strong follow-up and attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
