General Description

The Turbine - Proposal Engineer is responsible for developing technical proposal for turbine projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives. This role involves close collaboration with sales, engineering, teams to deliver competitive and technically robust solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in turbine technology, proposal management, and cross-functional teamwork to drive successful project acquisition and customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Write the purpose for which the job exists

  • Prepare Technical Bids: Coordinate with the European Hydraulics Team/COC to prepare technical bids for turbine projects.
  • Fix Hydraulic Parameters: Set hydraulic parameters according to the boundary conditions of the hydro power plant.
  • Pre-bid Points: Prepare pre-bid points for discussions and clarifications.
  • Technical Offer: Develop the technical offer for proposals.
  • Weight List & Costing: Prepare the weight list and cost estimates, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Pre-bid Meetings: Attend pre-bid meetings with clients.
  • Technical Meetings: Participate in technical meetings and discussions with clients.
  • Contract Documentation: Prepare contract documents in case of award of contract.
  • Support SSB Team: Assist the SSB team in making technical offers with coating requirements.

YOU’RE GOOD AT: Write the details of the core area of expertise required to possess by the candidate.

  • Knowledge of Hydraulics: Deep understanding of hydraulic principles, especially as they relate to hydro turbines and power plants.
  • Mechanical Design: Proficiency in mechanical design aspects, including the integration of turbines with civil structures and generators.
  • Power Plant Systems: Broad knowledge of overall power plant operations, with a focus on turbine interface aspects.
  • Interface Management: Ability to manage and optimize the interface between turbines, civil works, and generators.
  • Technical Proposal Preparation: Experience in preparing technical bids, offers, and contract documents for hydro turbine projects.

YOU BRING: Experience & Qualifications (Provide information about knowledge required to delve into this role)

Education: B.E. (Mechanical) or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 6 to 15 years in proposal/tendering of hydro turbines, preferably with companies like Alstom, Voith, Jyoti, Flovel, or similar industries.

PREFERRED: Information about the knowledge required for the job which is not mandatory to possess.

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCad, Excel, SAP, Microsoft Scheduling.

YOU’LL WORK WITH: Provide details pertaining to the reporting structure (Direct/Indirect).

  • The Person will directly report to Vice President – Sales & Marketing ( SR )
