As a Proposal Engineering Professional for Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Balance of Plant,

  • Begin your day partnering closely with the Sales team - translating customer tender specifications into feasible, optimized technical solutions for Industrial Steam Turbine projects across local and export markets
  • Prepare compelling technical offers, size and cost EI&C auxiliaries and shape the winning strategy for each bid.
  • Contribute to profitability and competitiveness by challenging requirements and related costs and offering cognitive inputs for the sales pitch
  • Interface directly with customers and consultants to bring proposals to technical closure.
  • Own the EI&C BoP scope of each proposal end-to-end
  • Satisfaction of handing a won project over to execution

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Drive winning proposals by preparing complete technical offers - detailed scope charts, P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams, auxiliary power calculations and control system overview diagrams - along with deviations and clarifications to the customer's tender specification
  • Engineer optimum, cost-competitive solutions through sizing, selection and cost estimation of EI&C auxiliaries, switchgears and related systems, including extended-scope items
  • Selection & configuration of control and instrumentation systems, including the turbine governor
  • Provide technical clarifications and options to customers and consultants
  • Source and evaluate sub-suppliers' techno-commercial offers for EI&C BoP scope
  • Assess technical risks and prepare mitigation plans with support from cross-functional teams
  • Enable a smooth handover by preparing the Technical LoA, supporting the project handover process and leading internal kick-off meetings to transfer won projects to the execution team
  • Stay engaged post-handover - supporting engineering, project management and procurement with clarifications during the execution stage
  • Ensure solutions comply with applicable IEC/IEEE/API and customer standards

What You Bring:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, with 2 - 8 years of experience in power projects
  • Strong technical foundation in P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams, auxiliary power calculations and control system overview diagrams
  • Hands-on know-how of instrumentation, generator & auxiliaries, control panels, switchgear, DC systems, PLCs and other electrical auxiliaries
  • Confidence to engage local and global customers and technical consultants directly, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptability under pressure, comfortably managing frequently changing priorities and tight timelines
  • Preferred: prior experience in Proposal Engineering / Detail Engineering / BoP Procurement for EI&C items of steam turbine power plants; experience handling API projects
