Job Description

Property Restoration Technician

PuroClean of the Chagrin Valley

About the Role

We're growing our team and looking for a skilled Property Restoration Technician to join us. This is a newly created role for someone who takes pride in doing hands-on, detail-oriented work while helping people through some of the most stressful moments they'll face with their homes or businesses.

If you are detail and Customer oriented and have a background in water damage mitigation, fire damage remediation, or mold remediation — or have experience in a construction trade like carpentry or drywall and are ready to specialize in restoration — we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation projects at residential and commercial properties
  • Assess damage, develop mitigation plans, and execute structural drying, demolition, and remediation work
  • Operate and maintain restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, moisture meters, etc.)
  • Document job progress, moisture readings, and scope of work accurately
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with Customers throughout the restoration process
  • Collaborate with team members and other trades to ensure jobs are completed correctly and on schedule
  • Follow all safety protocols and industry best practices on every job site

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in water damage mitigation, fire damage remediation, or mold remediation; 5–10 years strongly preferred
  • Background in a construction trade (carpentry, drywall, or similar) is a strong plus – we’re seeking someone familiar with building structures, methods, and materials

Certifications

  • Required (or ability to obtain quickly): IICRC certifications in Water Restoration Technician (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD)
  • Preferred: Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT), Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job right
  • Comfortable and capable with hand and power tools
  • Curious and open-minded — willing to keep learning as techniques, equipment, and industry standards evolve
  • A genuine Customer service mindset, with empathy for customers experiencing loss or damage to their property
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional presence on-site
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry restoration equipment and materials, sometimes weighing 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to remove damaged personal property and/or building materials, which may involve navigating stairs (including basement access)
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, bending, and working in tight or awkward spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including damp, dusty, or odorous job sites
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights when needed

Compensation & Schedule

  • Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience
  • Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Health care insurance benefit offered
  • Ongoing training and support for maintaining and earning additional IICRC certifications
  • Please note: due to the emergency nature of restoration work, after-hours and/or weekend work is required from time to time, as dictated by the needs of a given job

Why Join Us

This is a chance to build something from the ground up as part of a newly established role, with real opportunity to grow your skills, earn additional certifications, and take on more responsibility over time. We're looking for someone who wants to make restoration work their craft — not just a job.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief note about their relevant experience and certifications.

Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
