Job Title: Property Partner

Type: Permanent

Location: Bristol

Salary: £54,495 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

BRC are working closely with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Property Partner.

This is a strategic property role acting as the link between council services occupying property and the property department. You will provide strategic advice across property asset management, helping to maximise property performance, identify cost efficiencies and support effective service delivery.

The role will also involve working with strategic leads to develop service asset management plans, translating strategic objectives into practical property solutions and working with public sector bodies, partners and the voluntary sector to support coordinated asset management planning.

Duties:

  • Act as the strategic link between council services and the property department.
  • Provide strategic advice on all aspects of property asset management.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise property performance through rationalisation and cost reduction.
  • Support the effective and cost-efficient delivery of services.
  • Develop service asset management plans with strategic leads.
  • Translate strategic objectives into effective property solutions.
  • Review, evaluate and implement property solutions to support efficient service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively across the public sector, with partners and the voluntary sector.
  • Negotiate and complete a range of property transactions.
  • Provide professional property advice to a wide range of service disciplines.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and potential partners.
  • Represent the organisation in legal and/or public settings where required.
  • Supervise and manage technical staff and contribute to effective team leadership.

Requirements:

  • Property-related qualification with experience providing proactive property management within a large organisation.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to provide professional advice and negotiate property transactions.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using innovative and analytical approaches to complex and challenging problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build confidence and commitment with stakeholders.
  • Experience representing an employer in a legal and/or public setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the public sector to deliver multi-organisation solutions.
  • Understanding of the wider needs of a business, regional economy and property market.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of property data and geographical systems.
  • Experience supervising and managing technical staff and leading and working within teams.

Desirable:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of managing public sector property.
  • Understanding of the operational context of local government services and working within a political environment involving committees and councillors.
