Job Description

About us

At Officeworks we make bigger things happen. Our customers, our team, and our community are our heart and soul. And if our brilliant people have taught us anything, it is that we can do all kinds of incredible things, each and every day.

Fast paced. Innovative. Inspiring. With close to 10,000 team members and a national footprint of more than 173 retail stores Australia wide – we’re focused on delivering a wide range, low price and great service. We’re about inspiring new ideas and thinking outside the box. We’re about kicking goals, having a laugh and pushing each other. We are about being rewarded and supported. We’re about teaching a customer something new and supporting the community. We’re about making a difference.

About the role

As part of the Property team, this role plays a key part in ensuring the business remains compliant with its lease obligations while supporting the ongoing performance and optimisation of the national property portfolio.

Reporting to the National Lease Manager, you will undertake lease renewal negotiations, exercising lease options, lease administration, and maintaining accurate property data and records. You will also negotiate market rent reviews, engage valuers, interpret lease and contract clauses, and negotiate lease variations where required.

This is a diverse and hands-on role that will see you working closely with landlords, property managers, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders to help deliver effective leasing outcomes across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking lease renewals, market rent reviews, and lease option exercises
  • Coordinating valuations, rental assessments, and independent determinations
  • Interpreting and summarising key lease and contract clauses
  • Negotiating lease variations and other leasing matters
  • Monitoring key lease dates and ensuring compliance obligations are met
  • Maintaining accurate records within the lease management system (PEPS+)
  • Preparing reports, research, and property-related documentation to support business decisions
  • Assisting with budgeting, accruals, and corporate reporting requirements
  • Building strong relationships with landlords, property managers, and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting leasing strategy initiatives and broader property team projects

This role offers the opportunity to work across a large and dynamic property portfolio while contributing to strategic leasing outcomes and continuous process improvement initiatives.

About you

You are a proactive and detail-oriented property professional with strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of lease administration and property law. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building relationships, and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree qualification, preferably in Property, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar property or lease administration role
  • Strong knowledge of property and contract law principles
  • Sound understanding of lease compliance and legal obligations
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • The ability to interpret complex lease documentation and provide practical advice
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience with PEPS or PEPS+ systems will be highly regarded, though not essential

You will be a collaborative team player who enjoys solving problems, driving process improvements, and contributing to the success of a high-performing Property team.
