Why KACL?

Since 1960, KACL has promoted inclusion and social justice in our community. We are a not-for-profit charitable organization made up of some of the most compassionate, caring, and hardworking people you’ll ever meet.
We are one of the largest employers in Kenora, and our goal is to be an employer of choice by focusing on safety, courtesy, teamwork, and inclusion.
The work of the Property, Facilities & Procurement Team supports KACL’s strategic goal of service excellence by enhancing the homes of the people we support. It also supports our goal of becoming an employer of choice by ensuring all KACL facilities are well maintained for employees. This position is right for you if you enjoy a wide range of tasks and solving problems every day. No two days are the same in this role, so you must be able to pivot and adapt as needs arise. What matters most is that you help provide an environment where everyone can live their most meaningful and satisfying lives.

You are:

  • Skilled in general trades: You possess a wide range of skills and are competent in performing general building and facility maintenance.
  • Compassionate: You care about others and do your work with kindness, generosity, and concern as you learn about the goals, values, and commitments people have made to each other.
  • A problem solver: You think outside the box, find unique ways to conquer challenges, plan proactively, and shape new possibilities.
  • Detail-oriented: Your work is accurate, concise, and professional, and you thrive when balancing multiple demands.

You will:

  • Complete repairs and maintenance for all KACL-owned and operated facilities in a timely manner.
  • Support the Property, Facilities & Procurement team in ensuring that KACL’s Health and Safety Program requirements, bylaws, and relevant legislation are followed whenever work is undertaken.
  • Plan, set up, and tear down KACL meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Procure and receive supplies, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE), and deliver items to KACL locations.
  • Use electronic systems to record property repair and maintenance requests, complete purchase orders and payment requests, and submit timesheets.

You’ll love:

  • Being part of a progressive organization that makes a real difference in our community.
  • A positive, fun, professional team that needs and values your gifts and talents.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth and exploration of your gifts.
