The role:

The Property Control Officer is responsible to provide end-to-end expertise and exceptional services to manage daily operations of the Jewelry Watches warehouse, provide exceptional care and services in pre-sale shipping coordination, handling, movement, storage, packing of jewelry watches property. This role works closely with Jewelry and Watches Departments and other internal departments to support activities such as property inspection, cataloguing, photography, filming, viewing, auction and client’s lot collection etc.

Key responsibilities (Not limited to the following):

Pre-Sale Shipping Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal colleagues and shippers to procure and coordinate transportation services for movement of pre-sale property locally and internationally such as shipping consignment from overseas to HK, round-trip shipping services to overseas for certification etc.
  • Monitor the progress of shipments and deliveries, escalate and report problems to the manager timely, troubleshoot and rectify problems.
  • Coordinate and prepare shipping paperwork and ensure relevant customs regulations, CITES regulation for endangered species and Christie’s policies are fulfilled.
  • Responsible to lodge customs declaration timely and accurately to HK Customs for import shipment coming in Christie’s HK.
  • Scan and file the shipping paperwork in accordance to departmental procedures.
  • Raise purchase order in JDE and ensure shippers submit invoices and Finance processes payments in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Property Handling and Operation of Jewelry Watches Warehouse

  • Ensure accurate and timely receipt of property upon arrival at Christie’s with condition check, take and record condition images, provide accurate labelling, barcoding, scanning in JDE to complete the stock-in process.
  • Ensure all incidents, accidents, damages or losses, discrepancies, CITES breached case are reported to the manager immediately.
  • Provide expertise and exceptional services to Jewelry and Watches Departments and other internal departments to support activities such as property inspection, cataloguing, photography, filming viewing, auction and client’s lot collection etc.
  • Scan movement of property timely in JDE to uphold accuracy of the jewelry watches inventory record.
  • Perform 100% physical stock checks every 6 months, monthly and weekly sample stock checks as required.
  • Housekeeping the warehouse of high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma (college degree preferred)
  • At least 1-2 year working experience
  • Jewelry & watches handling experience is desirable
  • Prior experience with shipping is an advantage
  • Physical work, lifting and usage of ladder will be required
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
  • Possess basic computer skills (MS Outlook Calendar, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Safety first attitude and exceptional care in handling and security of property
  • Highly self-motivated and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member to complete the tasks at hand
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate well with internal and external clients
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours when required

Salary Range

HKD280,000 - 330,000 per annum
