Assistant Controller
Five Towns

We are seeking a detail-oriented assistant controller to join a commercial real estate company in the Five Towns area. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of private accounting experience who is organized, analytical, and capable of managing financial operations across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Assist with budget preparation and monitor performance against budgets
• Handle tax payments and ensure timely filings
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and proper account coding
• Work closely with property management and ownership on financial reporting and property performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of private accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with AppFolio
