Job Description

POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. With now 70 dedicated colleagues, we are working at two locations to make our vision reality. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Propellant Supply & Management Engineer (m/f/d).
  • Design and Analysis of propellant supply systems for a two-stage winged hypersonic UAV within the project HYTEV
  • Design and Analysis of tank systems for kerosene and liquid oxygen applications
  • Design and interpretation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) based on requirements and functional needs
  • Define and verify key performance parameters, such as flow rates, pressures, and efficiency, through simulation and testing
  • Define specifications for valves, solenoid valves, control valves, pressure regulators, pressure vessels and safety components
  • Fluid system component selection, trade-off studies and procurement
  • Simulation and analysis of system behaviour
  • Design fluid system parts and assemblies in CAD
  • Define operation and safety procedures for the fluid system
  • Successfully completed aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.)
  • Experience in propellant management system design for aerospace vehicle preferred
  • Programming skills in Python, C++, Matlab preferred
  • Proficient with CAD software (Inventor/Creo)
  • Experience with simulation software would be an advantage (EcosimPro, Ansys)
  • Hands-on experience with assembling, testing and troubleshooting fluid systems.
  • Proficiency in both German and English
  • Excellent analytical and interdisciplinary skills
  • fluent English, German skills desirable
  • Proactive mindset, high level of motivation, flexibility, perseverance, and ability to work in a team
  • Work experience in a start-up environment is an advantage
