What you will be doing

Job Summary: The Project/Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and overseeing plant projects that support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. It also includes oversight of the Plant’s automation program. This role involves designing, planning, coordinating, and scheduling projects that will improve the plant. They will include projects based on sustaining current plant abilities, improving reliability, and return seeking. The position works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Corporate resources, contractors, and external vendors to achieve desired results. Strong proficiency in Rockwell, AutoCAD, and program management software is required.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to fully utilize MS Office Products, ACAD/Solid works software and MS Project.
  • Professional interaction with Employee’s, Contractors, and Vendors at all levels of the organization.
  • Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment, including ability to direct controls engineers in building machine control software to perform proper machine operations.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to implement automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
  • Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.
  • Raise awareness and ensure compliance with Health & Safety objectives and company PPE standards. Attend required training.
  • Provide oversight of the Plant’s Automation Program.
  • Dotted line responsibility to Plant PLC Techs/Specialists with respect to assigning projects, providing direction, and reviewing progress. This will be accomplished through cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 years of project engineering experience.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic design, troubleshooting, and start-up.
  • Work experience in relatively high-speed manufacturing and robotics.
  • Basic proficiency with AutoCAD software.
  • Proficient in Rockwell Automation programs.
