National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a for a Project Support Officer to support the delivery of the Goat Island Remediation Program; a major initiative focused on repairing and remediating historic buildings and infrastructure in preparation for the island's transfer to Aboriginal ownership and management. Goat Island is part of Sydney Harbour National Park and is recognised for its rich Aboriginal, historic and natural heritage values.
Goat Island is one of Sydney Harbour's most fascinating yet lesser-known places. Located within Sydney Harbour National Park, the island is listed on the NSW State Heritage Register and is home to more than 30 significant buildings and structures spanning over 130 years of history.
NPWS is delivering a major conservation and infrastructure program to protect and restore these important heritage assets while preparing the island for its future management by Aboriginal custodians.
Based at Bobbin Head, you'll report to the Project Manager and join a small, dedicated team supporting the delivery of the Goat Island Remediation Program. This varied role provides project and administrative support across a diverse portfolio of capital works projects, including:
You'll also provide support to the Greater Sydney Branch Major Infrastructure Delivery Unit, which delivers visitor infrastructure projects across some of NSW's most iconic national parks and visitor precincts.
Working closely with project managers and specialist consultants, you'll help coordinate meetings, maintain project records and databases, prepare reports and presentations, manage enquiries, undertake research and analysis, and support the day-to-day delivery of important infrastructure and heritage projects.
