About this role:


The Project Support Officer delivers specialised support to Project and Program Managers across the Rail Operations Projects Portfolio. The role supports Regional Project Delivery teams by contributing to effective project‑specific financial management and project controls within a fast‑paced project environment.

Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive project support across the Rail Operations Projects portfolio, working closely with Program, Project, Design and Contract Managers to enable effective delivery
  • Support Project Managers with the establishment, monitoring, reporting and closeout of financial management activities, including monthly accruals, journals, SAP reporting, and management of project work and purchase orders
  • Assist Project Managers with the preparation of asset transfers and project performance reporting, including monthly project assurance reviews and quarterly cash forecasts
  • Contribute to effective project governance through coordination of meetings, followup of actions and management of project documentation in line with organisational records management requirements

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

  • High level skill in providing project support to Project Managers, including project reporting, meeting deadlines, coordinating project meetings and workshops, and engaging effectively with stakeholders
  • Substantial experience in the use of TRIM, SAP R3 and the Microsoft Office Suite to support project administration, reporting and records management
  • Sound knowledge of project management principles and practices, including the project lifecycle, financial management, project controls, auditing requirements and Queensland Rail investment policies and procedures
