Job Summary

The Revit Operator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and coordinating accurate Building Information Models (BIM) and CAD documentation for audiovisual design and engineering projects. Working collaboratively with Design Engineers, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams, this role ensures all deliverables meet company standards, client specifications, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, expertise in clash detection and BIM coordination tools, and a commitment to quality documentation that enables seamless project execution from design through installation.

Primary Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Development

Develop and maintain Revit models in accordance with LOD (Level of Development) specifications and project requirements.

Create floor plans, elevations, sections, 3D views, and AV infrastructure layouts with accuracy and architectural precision.

Model all systems to actual size and specifications matching approved submittals and manufacturer data.

Include all coordination elements: supports, connections, hangers, access zones, service clearances, and code compliance requirements.

Manage Revit families, templates, and project standards to maintain consistency across all models.

BIM Coordination & Clash Detection

Execute internal clash detection using Navisworks, Revizto, or BIM360 prior to submittal.

Resolve all internal model conflicts and interferences before design team and trade partner reviews.

Coordinate AV system requirements with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural models.

Participate in active BIM coordination meetings, clash detection reviews, and issue resolution sessions.

Export and publish models to Revizto and BIM360 collaboration platforms on required schedules.

Generate and track clash reports with corrective measures and sign-offs.

Documentation & Coordination

Review and incorporate design markups, RFIs, and project revisions with accuracy and efficiency.

Maintain accurate version control and file management within project systems (Procore, ACC, Revizto, BIM360).

CAD & Documentation Support

Create and maintain AutoCAD drawings for cable diagrams, system layouts, and 2D documentation.

Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment schedules, and system specifications

Ensure all drawings include proper cover pages, title blocks, revision histories, page numbering, and sheet organization.

Generate accurate cable pull schedules, IP schedules, and runlists for field execution.

Quality Assurance

Apply all company standards and naming conventions consistently across all models and documents.

Conduct thorough self-QC reviews before submitting work, identifying and correcting issues proactively.

Achieve first-time QC pass rate of 90%+ on all deliverables.

Respond efficiently to review comments and complete revision cycles in ≤2 iterations.

Collaboration & Communication

Communicate effectively with Design Engineers, Project Managers, and field teams regarding model status and design intent.

Flag technical issues, coordination conflicts, and design questions promptly for team resolution.

Support project milestone meetings and delivery schedules with on-time completion of assignments.

Required Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, CAD, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience using Autodesk Revit in design, engineering, or construction environments.

Minimum 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience for 2D documentation and technical drawing.

Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining BIM models from schematic through construction/IFC phases.

Clash Detection & BIM Coordination (Required)

Hands-on experience with Navisworks including model coordination, clash detection, viewpoint creation, and report generation.

Demonstrated proficiency with Revizto for model publishing, collaborative markup, issue tracking, and coordination workflows.

Working knowledge of Autodesk BIM 360 (or Autodesk Construction Cloud) for model management, version control, and team collaboration.

Ability to interpret clash reports, prioritize conflicts by trade hierarchy, and coordinate resolutions.

Experience setting up coordination hierarchies and clash detection protocols per project requirements.

Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, audiovisual infrastructure, and systems design principles.

Knowledge of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawing conventions and coordination.

Ability to create and manage Revit families, view templates, and shared parameter libraries.

Understanding of BIM standards, file formats (native, IFC, NWC), and data exchange requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Autodesk Revit Certification (ACU or similar)

Navisworks Certified Associate or Certified Professional

AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification

BIM-related certifications (BIMForum LOD, BIM Level 2, etc.)

Experience with audiovisual system design, integration, or consulting projects

Familiarity with AVIXA standards and industry best practices.

Experience in consulting, engineering, or system integration environments.

Work Environment & Conditions

Location: Office-based or hybrid; primary work performed at workstation with dual monitors.

Schedule: IST 2PM to 11 PM

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods; ability to work at computer workstation for 6-8 hours daily.

Travel: Minimal; occasional site visits or coordination meetings as needed.
