
The Project Support Associate supports project performance, financial accuracy, and operational discipline across active projects. This role serves as an analytical support function for Project Managers and Account Managers by tracking project financials, monitoring progress, identifying variances, and supporting accurate billing.
This is an entry-to-mid level role on a Project Controls and Performance Analysis growth track, designed for candidates who are analytical, Excel-proficient, and interested in building project performance and financial analysis skills over time.
Project Financial Tracking & Analysis
Maintain detailed project trackers comparing estimated vs. actual costs
Track project performance metrics and identify cost overruns or margin risks
Identify trends and variances impacting project profitability
Change Orders & Purchase Orders
Track change orders from submission through approval and billing
Follow up internally and externally on outstanding COs and POs
Ensure approved changes are accurately reflected in job cost reports
Project Progress & Billing Support
Coordinate with Project Managers to confirm project completion status
Support timely and accurate invoicing aligned with contract terms
Validate billing against approved change orders and project milestones
Reporting & Communication
Provide structured financial and performance updates to project teams
Maintain accurate logs, trackers, and follow-up documentation
Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and clients as needed
Education
Bachelors degree (or in progress) in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Equivalent analytical experience may be considered
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a project, financial, analytical, or operations-related roles
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
Experience working with project data, financial tracking, or performance metrics
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
