About the role

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent (Mechanical or Electrical) to oversee maintenance and project execution activities within a Alumina Smelter environment. This role provides frontline leadership across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and aligned with operational requirements.

You will coordinate all field‑based activities, manage contractor performance, support shutdown and project delivery, and work closely with operations, engineering and HSE teams to maintain a high‑performance culture onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership for maintenance and project crews, including contractors.
  • Ensure safe and compliant execution of all work activities within operational plant areas.
  • Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and workforce coordination for planned works.
  • Monitor progress, identify constraints and implement solutions to maintain productivity.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations and HSE teams to address issues and optimise performance.
  • Conduct field verifications, toolbox talks, HSE interactions, and ensure quality of work.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering shutdowns, projects and major maintenance scopes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, efficiency and work practices.
  • Complete project performance reports for internal and external parties

About you

·Trade or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.

·Strong background in maintenance, operations or projects within mining, minerals or processing facilities (bauxite, alumina or similar highly regarded).

·5 years Proven experience in a Superintendent or senior supervisory role overseeing field teams.

·Strong leadership capability with a focus on safety, team engagement and performance.

·Solid understanding of permits, risk management and working in live operational environments.

·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary groups.

·Ability to manage competing priorities and drive quality outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
