Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Project Services Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Project Services Manager will provide technical guidance, support and supervise the Project Controls Department's functions of planning, scheduling, capital cost estimating, cost management, progress and performance analysis and reporting, as required to meet project scope and job requirements by performing the following duties and responsibilities. Develops and maintains general guidelines, reports, tools and procedures for administration and management of company staffing requirements for engineering disciplines including forecasting, trending and historical data management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote compliance with safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop Project Controls Specialists, Cost Estimators, and Schedulers.
  • Manage staffing activities including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, leave approvals, timesheets, expenses, and billing rates.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Project Controls processes, including cost control, scheduling, planning, and reporting.
  • Prepare project schedules, execution plans, staffing plans, and Project Controls sections of execution plans and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structures, project coding structures, and project control systems.
  • Monitor cost and schedule performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions and mitigation plans.
  • Support proposal development, project business planning, commercial alignment, and project profit recognition reviews.
  • Define Project Controls scope, execution strategy, and service requirements for projects.
  • Interpret contract requirements to ensure Project Controls’ activities comply with client and project obligations.
  • Lead and support estimating studies, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates.
  • Develop, review, and validate project estimates based on scope, execution strategy, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Benchmark estimates against historical project data, industry metrics, and lessons learned to improve estimate accuracy.

  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in project services, project controls, estimating, scheduling, or cost control; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting EPC lump-sum turnkey projects valued above $20MM.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and team management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, cost control, estimating methods, tools, and related software.
  • Occasional travel to client job sites, usually involving heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities and access all areas of the facility.
