Job Description

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is an international, nonprofit conservation organization with two front doors: the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. We integrate wildlife health and care, science, and education to develop sustainable conservation solutions.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Project Search Intern role provides individuals with the opportunity to gain real-world work experience in a supportive and inclusive environment. Interns will build practical skills by participating in hands-on tasks, following directions, and working collaboratively with team members. This position is designed to help individuals gain confidence, develop strong communication and teamwork abilities, and demonstrate a willingness to learn in a dynamic workplace. Interns are expected to follow safety procedures and complete tasks responsibly under supervision.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and apply new tasks in dynamic environments
• Builds confidence through hands-on experience and consistent practice
• Develops effective communication and teamwork skills with peers and supervisors
• Follows instructions and safety guidelines to complete tasks accurately and responsibly

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Candidates that are currently a part of the Project SEARCH program and have completed the Project SEARCH Assessment.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Able to communicate, orally and in writing.
• Ability to demonstrate organization and planning skills.
• Ability to deliver good guest service.
• Demonstrated ability to work with teams and with others in a diverse environment.
