Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Project Scheduler in Victoria or Queensland to work on Land projects
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Develop, maintain and enhance project schedules, including PWBS/CWBS structures and supporting data dictionaries.
Analyse cost, schedule and performance data, providing accurate progress reporting and practical Earned Value Performance Measurement.
Support project governance and broader Project Controls, participating in workshops and applying industry‑best scheduling practices.
Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, including resourced scheduling and effective management of individual schedules.
Liaise effectively across Defence environments, ensuring all work aligns with military, operational, regulatory and contractual standards.
What You’ll Bring
Strong scheduling and project management capability, including proficiency with Open Plan Professional (Version 8+) and complex Defence project scheduling practices.
Defence project delivery experience, with solid understanding of the One Defence Capability System and CASG environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across Defence and industry teams.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and recognised schedule management certification, or equivalent industry experience.
Ability to deliver high‑quality scheduling outputs, including First and Second Pass schedules and Defence‑aligned project controls.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
