Project Planner / Scheduler

Location: DRC (Site-Based, Rotation)
Employment Type: Contract 12-month

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler
to support our client's mining operations by developing and managing detailed project plans and schedules across a range of engineering and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating project schedules and work plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with operational and safety requirements.

This role requires strong coordination with engineering, operations, and contractor teams to ensure alignment and effective execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Coordinate planning activities across engineering, operations, and contractors
  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
  • Identify risks, constraints, and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation plans
  • Support planning of construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities
  • Ensure timely procurement of parts, materials, and resources
  • Conduct field audits to validate progress and compliance
  • Manage project reporting, including updates and as-built documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and execution

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–10 years' experience in project planning and scheduling
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Strong experience in mining, maintenance, or heavy industry environments
  • Proven knowledge of project management and planning processes
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks
  • Previous expat experience in Africa advantageous

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills (English essential, French advantageous)
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural site environments

  • Ability to build relationships across teams and stakeholders
