The Project Ops Analyst position at Fathom is a critical role accountable for ensuring effective Technical delivery, with a primary emphasis on the tech-to-product cycle and internal governance. Additionally, this role will be expected to develop and mature Fathom’s operational ways of working and improvement initiatives.
This role reports to the new Lead of Delivery and Improvement in the Technical team
● Lead the continued adoption and enforcement of governance frameworks and processes, particularly within technical teams.
● Identify and implement improvements in existing processes, documentation, and training to ensure efficient workflows.
● Escalate ongoing issues and lack of adoption/adherence with senior management.
● Implement project controls, such as project gates, to address ongoing adoption or compliance issues.
● Review, document, and map operational processes to identify bottlenecks and efficiency opportunities.
● Monitor the portfolio of projects against the agreed governance standards.
● Support high-risk, high-importance technical projects, e.g. ‘Partnership’ or ‘Consultancy’ projects.
● Conduct project health checks, and recommend remediation or improvement actions.
● Mobilise projects to ensure excellence, particularly client deliverables.
● Facilitate and document regular governance meetings, including but not limited to fortnightly project reporting and quarterly portfolio steering.
● Provide ad-hoc support to delivery teams and technical leads in best-practise use of tools and systems (e.g. ClickUp etc.).
● Review and support the submission of new consultancy projects or initiatives.
● Maintain quality and relevance of documentation and wikis.
● Proven experience in project and portfolio management with a clear understanding of different delivery methodologies and their respective nuances and benefits e.g. traditional waterfall vs agile or scrum.
● Strong understanding and experience in implementing governance frameworks.
● Demonstrated ability to drive efficiency, quality, and accountability.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for facilitating discussions and influencing stakeholders.
● Strong organisational habits, including planning, tracking, and documentation.
● Capacity to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.
● Familiarity or knowledge of change management methodologies and principles.
● Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, etc.)/MS Office applications and project management or development software (e.g. ClickUp/GitHub).
● Ideally familiar with reporting and data tools such as PowerBI or Tableu.
